STI's Information
Good Sexual Health
Just like our physical and mental health, our sexual health is something we need to take care of.
STIs – Sexually Transmitted Infections – are sadly on the increase.
Whilst most are easily treated, the risks for some can be serious and even life changing. Though some can be symptomless, they can also be very harmful if we pass them on to others.
The good news is that with the right advice, it’s easy to protect yourself and others. And if you do feel you’re at risk, you can take a quick and discrete test – often at home – to discover if you need to take action.
Test at Home
We provide home testing kits which make it quick and discrete to ensure you and your partner are safe.
With easy-to-understand instructions, it takes just a few minutes to give a small sample of urine, blood or with a swab of your intimate areas.
You simply place the sample in the prepaid envelope, pop it in the post and you’ll receive the results – by text – in just a few days.
Easy!
What is an STI?
An STI is a Sexually Transmitted Infection.
Collectively, they’ve gone by a few names and abbreviations over the years – like VD or STDs – but whatever the name, they can be very harmful.
An STI is essentially an infection – caused by bacteria, a virus or a parasite – that is passed from one person to another during sex or intimate contact. It could be oral, vaginal or anal sex.
Some are initially symptomless. Some develop symptoms quickly. Some can be very dangerous if left untreated. Fortunately, most can be easily treated.
Using a condom is the most effective protection, especially if you’ve recently changed sexual partner.
When it comes to protecting your sexual health, it’s better – and easier – to be safe than sorry!
